Dublin Police Seize Hundreds Of Pounds Of Fireworks
Extra officers will be patrolling this week ahead of July 4 to enforce firework regulations.

DUBLIN, CA — The Dublin Police Department and Alameda County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad seized a few hundreds of pounds of fireworks, the sheriff's office said.
There will be additional deputies patrolling to address fireworks matters in the days leading up to July 4, the sheriff's office said on Twitter. Fireworks can especially impact vulnerable people and animals.
The Dublin Police department has previously said it will have additional staff ready to enforce fireworks regulations.

The sale of "safe and sane" fireworks began Sunday in Dublin and will continue through July 4. Thirteen nonprofit organizations are conducting the sales.
Local fireworks events have been called off to ensure social distancing amid the pandemic, though the city is allowing backyard fireworks usage. Fireworks are not permitted at schools, businesses or multi-family complexes such as apartments, condominium or townhome neighborhoods.
