One day, before I realized how old my bear was. I was flipping the pages on this book of mine. The Teddy Bear Encyclopedia by Pauline Cockrill. In this book on every page there are teddy bears sitting in the middle of the page from all different manufacturers and ages going back to 1904. Well, Flipping the pages real fast with my thumb. I noticed all bears had this seem up their stomach, as there closing seem from the production line. Including the famous Smithsonian bear. Well my old bear has this closing seem up his belly, not so straight at all!! My old bear shows a straight seem up from his bootom, two inches the to the right, two inches up three inches, kinda zig zag, in overlaping material, used in puckers. A practice used by a seemtress to hide the seem! Very clearly one can see this on my bear. Therefore my old bear was hand-made! My old bear was made by the same creators of the Smithsonian bear, there for my bear is older than the Smithsonian bear! A very rare bear indeed! He belongs in the Smithsonian Institute! The story says the Michtom's Hand-Made Teddy bears in the beginning. The Michtom's were innovators from the very beginning! They used their creativity and imagination!
