EL CERRITO, CA — Monarch butterflies are loved here in California, with people flocking to favored groves where they gather. The monarch caterpillar stage only lasts a few weeks, but John Rowe managed to snap a photo of one in his yard Monday evening. He calls the photo, "Transformation is coming!"

Terrific photo, John — thank you for sharing!
