Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on I-80 Identified as El Cerrito Man
Anyone who saw the crash has been asked to call the CHP at (800) TELL-CHP or (510) 450-3821.

A motorcyclist who died in a multi-vehicle collision involving an overturned big-rig on Interstate Highway 80 Wednesday afternoon has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office as 27-year-old El Cerrito resident Andre Bayati.
Bayati was pronounced dead at the scene after being thrown from his motorcycle and struck by at least one other vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash also involved an SUV and an overturned big-rig. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to the CHP.

CHP officials said the big-rig apparently swerved to avoid the motorcyclist, causing it to overturn. Investigators are still working to determine why the motorcyclist was ejected from the bike.
