LA Athletes Targeted For Burglary: Lakers Star Nick Young Is Latest Victim

TARZANA, CA — The Tarzana home of Los Angeles Lakers star Nick Young was burglarized last month, with the culprit stealing about $500,000 worth of cash, jewelry and other valuables, Los Angeles police said Thursday.

Young is just the latest in a string of famous Los Angeles athletes to be burglarized in the Valley, and he is the second Laker to be burglarized in Tarzana recently.

The crime occurred some time between Feb. 18 and 19 at the residence in the 19000 block of Wells Drive, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. According to TMZ.com, the thieves made off with about $30,000 in cash and other valuables, including gold chains, a custom ring and an entire locked safe.

In January, Laker legend Derek Fisher's Tarzana home was also burglarized with the thieves reportedly making off with $300,000 in loot, including a championship ring. This week police also announced the burglary of Dodgers star Yasiel Puig's Sherman Oaks home. The culprits made off with $170,000 in jewelry and electronics.

A number of other celebrities have also been burglarized in Los Angeles this year, including singers Alanis Morissette and Nicki Minaj. The list of stars burglarized in Los Angeles is long; Miley Cyrus has been repeatedly targeted.
