SFPD, Fed Agency Now Involved In Bay Area Underage Sex Scandal
The agencies are conducting investigations to see if their officers are linked to teen.

SAN FRANCISCO -- A San Francisco police spokeswoman said Friday that her department is among a host of local law enforcement agencies who are conducting investigations to see if any of their officers have been involved with a teenage woman at the center of a sexual misconduct probe that started in Oakland.
San Francisco police spokeswoman Grace Gatpandan said, "We are aware of the investigation and are conducting a review to determine if any of our members had any inappropriate contact with the victim."
But Gatpandan said no specific San Francisco officer is under investigation.

On Tuesday, Richmond police said a group of their officers are being investigated and the Contra Costa County sheriff's office confirmed today that one of its deputies was placed on administrative leave on Monday
as part of the growing scandal.
On Wednesday night, the Alameda County District Attorney's Office said it had placed one of its investigators on administrative leave pending an investigation into whether he was involved with the teen.
It also said it is conducting a thorough investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct involving police officers at multiple East Bay law enforcement agencies.
The teen woman said she also had been involved in sexual activity with Alameda County sheriff's deputies but a sheriff's spokesman said an independent investigation cleared them of any criminal wrongdoing or unethical conduct.
The alleged misconduct among law enforcement personnel was initially brought to light when the Oakland Police Department's internal affairs division investigated the suicide of Officer Brendan O'Brien last September.
