FREMONT, CA — Today's photo of the day comes from Fremont's Quarry Lakes, where Jeff Cast and his colorful macaw, Gunner, enjoyed the sight of random, yet "delightful" flower patches amongst picnic tables.

This appears to be a pink evening primrose, also known as "pinkladies," one of several wildflowers that grow near Quarry Lakes. A guide to flowers in the East Bay Regional Park District can be found here.

If you have an awesome photo of nature, breathtaking scenery, kids caught being kids, a pet doing something funny, or something unusual you happen to catch with your camera, we'd love to feature it on Patch.

We're looking for high-resolution images that reflect the beauty and fun of Northern California and that boast your unique talents. Cell phone images are fine.
