Fremont Caregiver Accused Of Sexually Abusing Client With Cognitive Disability: Report

FREMONT, CA — A caregiver at a Fremont adult daycare center has been accused of sexually abusing a woman with cognitive disabilities under his care, according to a report from The Mercury News.
Oscar Duarte Gomez, 31, faces two counts of lewd act on a dependent adult stemming from the assault on a client on Feb, 26, according to the report.
Gomez was supposed to take the woman on an outing, but instead took her back to his apartment, where he undressed her, groped her and exposed himself, according to the report, which cited court filings.

The woman told her mother about the abuse, who then reported it to the police, according to the report, which said court records revealed Duarte-Gomez confessed to the abuse to investigators.
