Fremont Recognized for Age-Friendly Innovation

Fremont was chosen for the honor by AARP.

FREMONT, CA — The City of Fremont has drawn attention for its efforts to integrate seniors into the fabric of the community. Fremont is one of 8 cities and counties in California chosen for the honor by AARP, the organization announced on Friday.

Fremont has been invited to highlight the city's age-friendly efforts – particularly the innovative use of participatory focus groups – during AARP California’s first Age-Friendly Communities Conference. Fremont, along with representatives from seven other cities and organizations, will present work that exemplifies age-friendly innovation at this inaugural gathering of practitioners, planners, and researchers who are driving and informing efforts to create age-friendly communities across California.

The Age-Friendly Communities Conference will be held on Tuesday, April, 25 in Pasadena.
