Guns Recovered From Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge
The Fremont Police Department, with the help of a boat from Menlo Park, recovered the weapons spotted by a passerby.
FREMONT, CA — The Fremont Police Department recovered two guns from the water at Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge.
A member of the public spotted the guns in the mudflats at low tide and reported them to the police department. Members of the Fremont Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit, in an airboat from the Menlo Park Fire Department, recovered the guns on the afternoon of Feb. 18.

The firearms are currently under investigation to determine if they were discarded after a violent crime.
Fremont Police expressed their appreciation to the Menlo Park Fire Department for their assistance and to the citizen who reported the guns.
