One Dead After Car Slams Into Big Rig On I-680 In Fremont

FREMONT, CA — One person is dead after a Honda Accord smashed into the back of a big rig at a high rate of speed on northbound Interstate Highway 680 in Fremont, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 8:20 a.m. near the South Mission Boulevard exit.

One lane was blocked for a time but it has reopened.

It's been a particularly deadly 24 hours on East Bay roads.
