Police Chase Ends With Crash Into Home On Fremont Cul-De-Sac

FREMONT, CA —Police arrested three attempted burglary suspects after their getaway vehicle crashed into a home on a Fremont cul-de-sac, following a short pursuit Tuesday morning.

According to Fremont police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques, police received a call from a resident on Marlowe Street reporting an attempted burglary around 10 a.m.

Bosques said the resident heard a knock on their door but didn't answer, only to see two men jump the fence into her backyard. The resident was able to scare the intruders away and then called police. After the suspects ran from the scene, a responding officer recognized a vehicle in the area that was reportedly seen near a burglary Monday on Farwell Drive.

When the officer tried to pull the vehicle over, the suspect drove off.

A short chase ensued and ended with the crash into the home. Two of the suspects were taken into custody at the scene of the crash. Another ran, jumped a fence but was caught a short time later on Blair Place.

The names of the suspects have not yet been released.

Two other residential burglaries occurred in the same neighborhood Monday on Kipling Place and Hudson Place and detectives looking into whether all four burglaries are connected, Bosques said.
