FREMONT, CA — A Fremont woman inside her home noticed someone watching her from outside as she was undressed at about 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 29, according to the Fremont Police Department.

The victim called out, and the suspect fled. Then, she called police.

Officers found video surveillance that captured the suspect looking into the window at the victim’s home on Ardo Street.

Officers were able to positively identify the suspect as Daniel Todd Martin, 56, of Fremont.

They are familiar with Martin because he is a serial peeper. He has has seven previous misdemeanor convictions for peeking into an inhabited dwelling while prowling on private property; four misdemeanor convictions for trespassing; and two felony convictions for 1st degree burglary.

An arrest warrant was issued for Martin. On Feb. 7, members of the FPD Crime Reduction Unit arrested him.

Martin ultimately admitted to looking into the victim’s window and being the person captured on video surveillance.

The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged Martin with Penal Code 647(i) — peeking into an inhabited dwelling while prowling on private property.
