What’s One Thing You’d Like to Improve in the Fremont and Tri-City Community?

Every community has things that work well—and things that could work better. Often, the people who experience a problem every day are also the people with the best ideas for solving it.

That is why we are asking a simple question:

What is one thing you would like to see improved in Fremont or the greater Tri-City community?

It could be traffic, public safety, parks and recreation, housing, local businesses, education, services for seniors, opportunities for young people, neighborhood concerns—or an issue that you believe simply isn't receiving enough attention.

No issue is too small to share.

From Community Problems to Community Solutions

There is another reason we are collecting these ideas.

At San Francisco Bay University (SFBU), we would like our students to engage with real challenges facing the communities around them—not simply hypothetical problems from a textbook.

Some of the ideas submitted by residents may therefore become challenges for a future SFBU Hawkathon, where students and community members can come together to brainstorm, design and explore practical solutions.

The goal isn't to promise that every problem can be solved. It is to create a way for community voices to be heard and to see what can happen when residents, students and others bring their ideas and skills together.

Maybe the solution is technological. Maybe it involves better communication, a new service, a community initiative, a different process—or simply bringing the right people together.

It all begins by identifying the problem.
