Magnitude 5.8 Earthquake Shakes Central Valley
A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck near the Central Valley Wednesday morning, followed by several aftershocks. Did you feel it?
CALIFORNIA— A 5.8-magnitude earthquake rattled the Central Valley Wednesday morning after striking about 10.5 miles southeast of Lone Pine, in Inyo County.
The earthquake began at 10:40 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey, striking at a depth of about 1.8 miles. Several aftershocks have been registered in the ensuing minutes, including a 4.6-magnitude earthquake at 10:59 a.m.
The initial quake was felt as far away as Fresno, Bakersfield and Las Vegas, according to the USGS "Did You Feel It?" online map.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
