Local law enforcement leaders say the prosecutor was likely recognized from a prior case and are now exploring a county ordinance to let certain Fresno city and county employees carry concealed weapons in government facilities.
   

3. Fresno Unified football season begins with heat safety precautions (yourcentralvalley.com) — Fresno Unified's football season is underway, and district officials are adjusting practices to protect student athletes from triple-digit heat. Using temperature-monitoring devices and modified gear rules, coaches watch closely for heat illness, while a Valley Children's pediatrician urges parents and players to recognize early warning signs like cramps, dizziness, and nausea so heat stroke can be prevented.
