• Man arrested for alleged child sex crimes at Fresno church, police say (abc30.com) — Fresno police have arrested a 57-year-old local man on multiple child sexual assault charges tied to his volunteer work at a Fresno church, and investigators believe there may be additional victims. He's being held in Fresno County Jail ahead of an October 14 court date, and anyone with information is urged to contact Fresno police to help protect other children.
   

• $30.5 Million USCG Child Development Center Will Create 126 Spaces for Children by 2028 (military.com) — A Fresno-based company, J.I. Garcia, has landed a $30.5 million Coast Guard contract to build a new child development center at Base Alameda, expanding capacity there to 126 childcare spots by 2028. While the facility will serve Bay Area military families, the award represents a significant federal project and potential jobs pipeline tied directly to a Fresno contractor.
