Glendora, Calif. (Jan. 26, 2021) – Citrus College Superintendent/President Geraldine M. Perri, Ph.D., will retire on July 1, 2021.
Ms. Kirton chose to study sociology since she is interested in learning about people and has a passion for children and elderly.
Veronica Kirton earned an Associate of Arts for Transfer in Sociology from Citrus College in 2020.
Geraldine M. Perri, Ph.D., is the first woman and the seventh superintendent/president in Citrus College history. She will retire on July 1.

Joumana McGowan, Ed.D., is the new vice president of academic affairs at Citrus College.
Originally elected to the board in 1999, Trustee Keith represents area 2, which includes Claremont and portions of Pomona and La Verne.
Trustee Montgomery, who represents Monrovia, Bradbury and portions of Duarte, was first appointed to fill a vacancy in 1998.

Dr. Contreras assumes the seat of Dr. Barbara R. Dickerson, who resigned on Sept. 14, 2020. His term expires on Dec. 9, 2022.
Anthony Contreras, Ed.D., is the newest governing board member of the Citrus Community College District for Azusa and portions of Duarte.

In July 2020, Moody's Investors Service raised the district's credit rating from Aa2 to Aa1.
Citrus College has been declared financially sound by Moody's Investors Service and, as a result, has received an upgraded credit rating.

Brooke Arelano, a third-year pre-allied health and psychology major at Citrus College, was recently awarded the Walgreens scholarship.

The Citrus College Communications and External Relations Office recently received first and third place honors from CCPRO.
This will be the third time that Citrus College has refinanced Measure G bonds, with previous refinancing taking place in 2013 and 2015.
Refinanced Measure G bonds will result in lower property tax assessments and a financial savings over the life of the debt.
