BREAKING: City council now must fill Councilman Eric Ziedrich's seat, as well, after his resignation.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – Healdsburg City Councilman Gary Plass lost his re-election bid in the Nov. 8 election, according to final results released Wednesday by the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office.
Plass, 63, a retired 28-year Healdsburg police veteran and a councilman since 2004, was leading Joe Naujokas, 46, a software developer, by 47 votes on Election Night, but lost by 20 votes, according to the final
results. Plass placed fourth among the six candidates for three available seats on the Council.
Councilman Eric Ziedrich, however, suddenly resigned after the Nov. 8 election when a measure intended to increase affordable housing in Healdsburg failed.
