About Fabio's Pizza & Italian Restaurant
Fabio's Pizza & Italian Restaurant, formerly Wildflour Boston Pizza, is a brand new family-owned pizzeria in Hermosa Beach, serving salads, sandwiches, pasta, and of course pizza! We are an authentic Italian restaurant, serving traditional New York style pizza and Sicilian inspired pasta dishes with homemade marinaras! Our story is a unique one, and it begins in Sicily.
Fabio’s Pizza & Italian Restaurant is steeped in the traditions of Carini, Sicily, a small town in the Province of Palermo. There, the Mannino family owned a large produce farm, operated by a brother and sister team named Guiseppe and Josephina.
In the 1920s, Guiseppe sought his fortunes in America while Josephina stayed to run the farm. Josephina’s grandson, Fabio, came along two generations later, growing to learn the ways of the family farm and his father's kitchen. Fast forward to 2011, during a Mannino family reunion in Carini, Guiseppe’s granddaughter, Joni, and her husband Bob chatted with Fabio and his son, Salvatore, about life and their future plans. After much merriment, Bob offered Salvatore a job at his hotel in Los Angeles after he finished high school. When asked what he wanted to do, Fabio responded, “I am a pizza man!”
Thus, Fabio’s Pizza & Italian Restaurant was born! We hope you enjoy the authentic Sicilian cuisine of Fabio’s beloved homeland.
