HOLLYWOOD, CA — "Charmed" and "Beverly Hills 90210" star Shannen Doherty is fighting for her life following a diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer, she announced Tuesday. Her cancer diagnosis comes three years after she entered remission for the disease.

In an emotional interview with ABC News that aired on "Good Morning America," Doherty said she is still in shock.

"My cancer came back, and that's why I'm here," she said. "I don't think I've processed it. It's a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways."

Doherty first shared her cancer diagnosis in 2015 through a lawsuit against her manager, Steven D. Blatt, and management firm, Tanner, Mainstain, Glynn & Johnson, for breach of contract and negligence, among other claims. In the lawsuit, she alleged mismanagement caused her to lose her health insurance and she was unable to see a doctor when she was sick. Uninsured and untreated, her cancer spread, she claimed.

"I definitely have days where I say, 'Why me?'" she told ABC. "And then I go, 'Well, why not me? Who else? Who else besides me deserves this?' None of us do."

The news was another blow for "Beverly Hills 90210" fans who grieved the death last year of Doherty's co-star, Luke Perry, at the age of 52.
