Local Crossing Guard Hit By SUV, Laguna Beach Community Offers Aid

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A Laguna Beach middle school crossing guard was left in need after he was struck by a vehicle while working his job at Thurston Middle School.

Thurston Middle School crossing guard Andy Belletti was working his post Monday, Dec. 11 when he was hit by an SUV.

The crash broke his leg in three places, family friend Audrey Moyce told Patch.

"[His injury] was on the same leg that finally got a long-overdue knee replacement a few years ago, no less," she said.

Audrey took to GoFundMe in an effort to raise funds for Belletti's medical bills and his time off of work. So far, the GoFundMe has exceeded it's $1,000 goal thanks to the generous donations of local residents.
