LAGUNA BEACH, CA - For the second time in eight days, a panga boat landed on the shore of Laguna Beach in the Crystal Cove area. Four people were taken into custody, and an extensive search was undertaken to locate additional occupants from the vessel.
The small boat landed around 8 a.m. Tuesday, and four people were quickly detained, according to Laguna Beach Police Sgt. Jim Cota.
Both Laguna Beach police and Orange County sheriff's officials assisted California State Parks in the search of the area, with the aid of a helicopter crew and a drone. No other occupants were found, and it was unclear how many people may have originally been on the small boat.
