2 Killed In Separate Accidents On Same Stretch Of I-15

JURUPA VALLEY, CA – One person was killed and four others were injured Monday in the second fatal crash in as many hours on the Ontario (15) Freeway in Mira Loma, north of Norco, authorities said.

The latest crash was reported at 1:08 a.m. on the southbound Ontario Freeway north of Cantu-Galleano Ranch Road, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash involved a big rig and a second vehicle, Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department said.

"There has been one confirmed fatality, one patient with serious injuries and three additional patients with minor injuries," Hagemann said.

The CHP shut down lanes 1, 2, 3 and 4 and was directing traffic to the right hand shoulder.

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in the same area at 10:52 p.m. Sunday and the CHP only lifted the SigAlert from that crash at 12:42 a.m. a dispatcher said.
