PERRIS, CA — Four people died in a weekend crash in Riverside County, the California Highway Patrol and sheriff's officials report. Two of those killed were from the Perris area, while the other two were from San Diego County.
The wreck happened around 5:10 a.m. along Cajalco Road, near Harley John Road, according to the CHP. Francisco Lazaro, 56, was driving a 2001 GMC Sierra westbound on Cajalco Road as Carolina Balerio De Lazaro, 52, was sitting in the passenger seat.
"At the same time, two adult males were driving in a 2006 Chevy Avalanche, eastbound on Cajalco Rd., approaching the GMC," CHP Officer Dan Olivas said in a news release. "For reasons still under investigation, the vehicles collided head-on."
