Deputies Cracking Down On Drivers In Wildomar
Two operations totaling 14 hours of patrol time have resulted in 63 traffic tickets issued to drivers in Wildomar.

WILDOMAR, CA — For the second time this month, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station conducted a "Traffic Enforcement Saturation" patrol in Wildomar to crack down on unsafe drivers.
The most recent operation took place Friday across the city from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Over the eight-hour period, deputies made 33 vehicle stops and ticketed 23 drivers for various traffic violations, with a focus on excessive speed. One driver was arrested for driving under the influence, the sheriff's department reported.

A similar operation took place Aug. 12 in Wildomar, when deputies handed out 40 traffic tickets over a six-hour period.
So far in 2020, deputies have investigated 75 traffic crashes in the city of Wildomar, 23 injury crashes and one fatal wreck. according to the sheriff's department.

The Traffic Saturation Patrols target unsafe drivers "to help prevent and reduce the number of traffic collisions within the city of Wildomar," the sheriff's department said.
More traffic operations are expected in Wildomar this year, according to the department.
Funding for the Saturation Patrol was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
