Driving With Loaded Gun & Meth: Suspect Arrested

Additional drugs, another weapon and ammo were recovered during a warrant search at the man's home, officials said.

MENIFEE, CA – A 28-year-old Menifee resident was arrested Thursday as Special Enforcement Team officers conducted a traffic-enforcement stop and found the driver to allegedly be in possession of a loaded handgun and more than an ounce of methamphetamine, according to authorities.

Freddie Josef Castro was taken into custody at approximately 4:10 p.m. near the intersection of McCall Boulevard and Bradley Road in Menifee, the Riverside County Sheriff's Office said.

Officers later served a search warrant at Castro’s residence, on the 29000 block of Buena Tierra in Menifee and recovered additional drugs, ammunition and a revolver, deputies said.

Castro was booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for suspected felony gun and drug charges.
