Dump Truck Driver Crushed To Death In RivCo: CHP
California Highway Patrol officials say the man was not wearing his seatbelt when he crashed on SR-60.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A Riverside man died after he crashed on the outskirts of Beaumont early Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol reports. The 44-year-old was driving a dump truck when he lost control, crashed into the side of a hill and was partially ejected in the wreck, according to CHP Officer Darren Meyer.
The incident happened around 5:50 a.m. on the eastbound side of SR-60, just west of Jack Rabbit Trail, according to Meyer.
"For reasons not known at this time, the driver drifted off the roadway and into the side of the mountain, south of the freeway shoulder," Meyer said. "The dump truck was deflected back into the traffic lanes where it overturned onto the driver side."
