Earthquake Centered In Lake Elsinore Shakes Region

Across the region exists the Elsinore Fault Zone, which is part of the trilateral split of the San Andreas fault​ system.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A magnitude 3.4 earthquake centered about 6 miles northwest of Lake Elsinore was felt as far away Monday morning as Hesperia and Oceanside, according to the U.S. Geological Society.

The quick-jolt temblor was reported at 6:20 a.m., according to the agency.

No injuries or serious damage were reported.
