Injured Hiker Rescued From Remote Area Near El Cariso Village

EL CARISO VILLAGE, CA — A hiker who became injured while hiking Monday night near waterfalls in El Cariso was safely rescued with help from a Cal Fire helicopter crew.

The incident was reported around 7 p.m. in an area inaccessible to motorized vehicles, but the helicopter crew was able to hoist the hiker from the difficult terrain.

The hiker was flown to an awaiting ground ambulance and transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

There is no word on the hiker's immediate condition.
