Innovative Lake Elsinore Student Projects Recognized by EVMWD
Students not only had to have an exemplary project, but needed to meet the criteria of having a strong water component to their projects.

On Thursday, April 9, the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District’s board of directors recognized 18 students for their water focused projects from the 2015 Lake Elsinore Unified School District Science Fair. A special reception and ceremony were held in honor of the students at the EVMWD Board Meeting, where they received trophies and prizes.
Students, who received prizes from EVMWD, not only had to have an exemplary project, but needed to meet the criteria of having a strong water component to their projects. This year’s projects included testing theories on evaporation, condensation, water quality and conservation.

This year’s award winners include:
- Cottonwood Canyon Elementary: Allie Brockie, Liam McCormick, Sara Louis, Haley Garcia,
- and Ellesse Lynum
- Elsinore Middle School: Gwyneth Elliott, Geneva Trovato, and Allison Dinger
- Luiseno Elementary: Michael Matzuy, Zack Anton, Mahlee Bender, Adrien Contreras, Ariana Cacho, Ethan Krenz, and Derek Pulley
- Ronald Reagan Elementary: James Peters and James Hicks
- Southern California Online Academy: Arlora Wheeler
“The students here today are the water ambassadors for tomorrow,” says Phil Williams, board president for the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District, “It is important that we continue to bolster the curiosity of our students and teachers through projects like the science fair to promote an understanding about our most precious resource.”
