Lake Elsinore Man Arrested For Stolen Property, Drug Charges

The 35-year-old was stopped Wednesday while driving a Ford truck that deputies recognized as allegedly stolen and used in a previous crime.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A Lake Elsinore man was arrested on alleged stolen-property and drug charges Wednesday after a traffic stop was made for a possible stolen vehicle, according to law enforcement.

Deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station at about 2:30 p.m. spotted and pulled over at Mission Trail and Malaga Road a Ford F250 truck that purportedly was reported stolen from the City of Riverside and used in a previous crime, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said

The driver, Jose Daniel Franco, 35 of Lake Elsinore, subsequently was arrested after deputies allegedly found 28 grams of a "white crystalline-type" substance, suspected to be but not confirmed as methamphetamine, on his person, deputies said.

Franco was transported and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for suspicion of possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.
