Mandatory Evacuations Lifted Near Holy Fire Burn Scar: UPDATED

Heavy rain produced flooding and debris flows in the Lake Elsinore and Temescal Valley areas for much of Thursday.

UPDATE 9 P.M.: Officials with the Riverside County Emergency Management Department say all mandatory evacuation orders have been lifted. Now, only volutary evacuation warnings remain in place for: Amorose, Alberhill, Glen Ivy A, Glen Ivy B, Glen Eden, Grace, Horsethief A, Laguna A, Laguna B, Maitri, McVicker A, Rice and Withrow A.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Evacuation orders are once again mandatory near the Holy Fire burn scar near the Lake Elsinore and Temescal Valley areas. Officials with the Riverside County Emergency Management Department say those in the following zones must go now:

  • Laguna B (added on Thursday afternoon)
  • Alvarado A (Added on Thursday afternoon)
  • Amorose
  • Alberhill
  • Glen Ivy A
  • Glen Ivy B
  • Glen Eden
  • Grace
  • Horsethief A
  • Laguna A
  • Maitri
  • McVicker A
  • Rice
  • Withrow A

In addition, there is a voluntary evacuation warning in place for Lakeside A.

An Evacuation Center is open at Temescal Canyon High School, located at 28755 El Toro Road in Lake Elsinore.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for most of the Inland Empire, including Lake Elsinore, until Thursday afternoon.

"The last round of rain will move across the region today through tonight, with the heaviest rain expected over portions of Riverside, Orange and San Bernardino Counties today," the National Weather Service says. "Flash flooding is possible near heaviest showers, along with debris flow near recent burn scars."
