Newest Elsinore Park Underway, Coming Spring 2019

A new, 5.74 acre park, is coming to the Canyon Hills area of the city.

From The City of Lake Elsinore: Construction is now underway on Christensen Park, a new, 5.74 acre park in the Canyon Hills area of the City. Proudly named in honor of the Christensen family, the park is a privately funded project that is being developed by Pardee Homes, LLC.

The Christensen family can trace their roots in Lake Elsinore back to 1882, when Danish brick-maker and immigrant Hans Christensen, SR. arrived in the Menifee Valley lured by the prospect of cheap and plentiful land. One of the first families to settle in the area and community members for over 100 years, the Christensen family and their legacy is synonymous with Lake Elsinore and the surrounding region. At one point holding a wheat, barley and cattle farm with over 5000 acres of land between Menifee and Lake Elsinore, of which 2,000 acres were sold to Pardee to develop Canyon Hills . The Christensen family sold their remaining land and farm equipment in 1998. Their family's story and impact on the city and region will not be forgotten and will be forever memorialized with this new park.
Christensen park is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2019. This park will bring more opportunities for rest and recreation to the city.
