Pedestrian Struck, Killed On I-215 In Perris
The man was killed early Tuesday, coroner's officials report.

PERRIS, CA — A person was hit and killed early Tuesday as they were walking on the 215 freeway in Perris, officials report. The wreck was reported just before 3 a.m.
"CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle at southbound Interstate 215 north of lower Highway 74 in Perris," said Tawny Cabral with the Riverside County Fire Department. "The first arriving engine company reported one victim who perished at the scene."
Coroner's officials report the man died about 20 minutes after he was hit. His identity was not immediately released.

All southbound lanes of Interstate 215 were temporarily closed following the crash. The Temecula Area CHP office is investigating the incident.
