RivCo CHP Seeks Volunteers To Assist At Office, In Community
This is an opportunity for those 55 and older to contribute to improving public safety and security, the California Highway Patrol said.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The California Highway Patrol is expanding its volunteer program, seeking individuals 55 and older to assist in the Riverside office and throughout the community.
Dubbed "Senior Volunteers," the civilian participants will handle such activities as helping in the office, assisting with DUI checkpoints, staffing community events, setting up radar trailers at designated locations, checking parking complaints, patrolling school zones and going on ride-alongs with officers, the CHP said.
"This is an opportunity for senior citizens to make a definitive contribution towards improving public safety service and security," the agency said. "The Senior Volunteer Program instills comradery among participating volunteers, an understanding and appreciation of the justice system, human relations, and ethics in the field of law enforcement."
