RivCo Restaurant Health Closures: Boba And Coffee Shops, Seafood Restaurants

County Environmental Health investigators found cockroach infestations, rodent activity and water heater issues in the recent closures.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Riverside County's Environmental Health Department temporarily closed or cited 11 restaurants and food trucks between Feb. 3 and March 4, due to immediate health concerns.

Each month, inspectors conduct both scheduled and unscheduled visits and identify “health hazards” for restaurant patrons. This month, health issues that caused immediate concern included failed hot water tanks, improper refrigeration temperatures, and rodent infestations. One closure occurred due to a fire at that facility, according to inspection reports.

Restaurants, if possible, can address issues immediately before inspectors leave the premises, or, at times, are forced to close to fix larger problems. They face subpar grades and, at times, lengthy closures due to vermin, failed plumbing and other issues.
