Trio Caught Breaking Into Lake Elsinore Business: Police

Authorities say a police K9 helped catch the would-be thieves.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Three people were arrested this week after they broke into a Lake Elsinore business in the middle of the night, the sheriff's department said Thursday. The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 31000 block of Auto Center Drive.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, authorities were notified of a break-in via a burglary alarm.

"Officers arrived and established a perimeter around the business within minutes," sheriff's Lt. Kevin Smith said in a news release. "A police dog conducted a search of the location and found two suspects who immediately surrendered when the police dog alerted, (barked), to their presence."
