Flood Advisory In Orange County: Turn Around, Don't Drown

The National Weather Service issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory in Orange County. Watch for more as the storms continue.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Orange County in southwestern California until 8:45 a.m.

Doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy rain that will likely continue urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area.

Frequent ponding of water can cause vehicles to hydroplane and lose control. Over one inch of rain has already fallen in some locations.

Some locations that will likely experience flooding include:

  • Anaheim
  • Santa Ana
  • Irvine
  • Huntington Beach
  • Garden Grove
  • Orange
  • Fullerton
  • Costa Mesa

Additional rainfall of over one-half inch is expected over parts of the area.

This additional rain will likely produce minor flooding.

Remember: Turn around, don t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
