Officer-Involved Shooting Near Pearson Park: Cops

An officer-involved shooting in Anaheim left one injured, Friday, police say. Harbor Boulevard was shut down during the investigation.

ANAHEIM, CA —A man was shot by Anaheim police officers in an alley off Harbor Boulevard, Friday, police said.

Police approached a suspect who was allegedly uncooperative, according to Anaheim Police Sgt. Daron Wyatt.

"Officers called for emergency backup, shortly before broadcasting that an officer-involved shooting had occurred," he said.

The suspect was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital with at least one gunshot wound.

"No officers were injured, and detectives are investigating," he said.

All lanes of Harbor Boulevard were shut down between Sycamore and La Palma as of noon, for an unknown length of time, he said. As of 3 p.m. one lane of traffic had reopened in each direction.

Alternate routes were suggested.
