Here’s what’s coming up in the next few weeks

  • · April 28 – Senior Center Workshop (2:30 pm – 4:30 pm – City Hall)

The last workshop was a disappointment. Nothing creative or reflective of Lake Forest. Let’s hope this next one does a better job. Please attend.

This is a great event for the whole family. Come early, stay late.

  • · May 2 – 4th July Committee (6 pm – Sports Park)

A great group of people working to put on one of the best July 4th celebrations in the County. Join the fun. FWIW – this will be the last day for Parade Coordinator Ron Rivera who moves on to Laguna Niguel on May 11. This is a major loss to the City. Ron was one of the most competent, hard-working, and dedicated employees we had. He will be sorely missed. On top of the loss of Dave Belmer last year, this is going to put a dent in the quality of our services.

  • · May 3 – Office Hours (4 to 6 pm – City Hall)

Always check first to see if the times change.

  • · May 3 - City Council Meeting (7 pm – City Hall)

Who knows what will happen this time. Will the residents be placed in time out”? For 5 minutes? 10 minutes? Will the Mayor get up and leave with no notice? It’s better than a soap opera and it’s free.

  • · May 7 – Lake Forest Garden Sale (8 am to 1 pm – Lake 1)

This is a great place to get a great deal, and it happens just before Mother’s Day in case you didn’t get your mom a present.

This is the second workshop and unlike the senior workshop, the first Civic Center workshop was good with lots of good ideas. Please attend.

  • · May 10 – Office Hours (4 to 6 pm – City Hall)

Always check first to see if the times change.

This is a special meeting where we plan how to spend our money. Please attend.

The Child Safety Academy was rightfully praised as a great resource. Register now. The course starts on May 11.

  • · May 12 – Planning Commission (7 pm)

Last time they met they voted against 100% of the wishes of the people, something they do too often. You can go, but what does it matter?

Help clean up Aliso Creek. Good times and a good way to spend the morning.
