A Mickey D's For Moraga?

If you've been out and about in Moraga lately you may have heard mention of a new McDonald's restaurant coming to town.

So far, one key city official maintains, the idea is still just that - an idea.

"I have heard the rumors, too," wrote when contacted by Patch. "But (there is) no application (filed) with the Town."

Keimach said a contractor did file a demolition permit for the Shell Station on Moraga Way at the end of last week, but that is has yet to be approved by the Town and would require a remediation plan for any potential clean-up of hazardous materials.

The only people in a position to validate talk of a new McDonalds would be the property owners, Keimach said, and in this case that would be the Bruzzone family.

If it does turn out to be more than talk and the Golden Arches do end up coming to Moraga, existing zoning would require the franchise owners to secure a conditional use permit with the Town.
