Eclipse coaches meet with Julie Foudy

At the most recent East Bay Eclipse Soccer Club coaches’ meeting, Eclipse head and assistant coaches had the chance to meet and speak with one of the most famous American soccer players of all time, Julie Foudy.

Julie spoke to Eclipse coaches about her experiences  in youth soccer, her time on the US national team, and her life now working in coaching, leadership training and broadcasting.

Julie provided proof that the balance of fun and competition that Eclipse strives for can lead to success even on the highest level, as she talked about the way she and her teammates on the US national team had fun even while competing for World Cup titles and gold medals at the Olympics (she won two of each!). Julie also spent a lot of time discussing leadership techniques that coaches can use themselves or help pass on to their players based on her experience as the captain of the national team for 13 years.
