Conscious Grandmothering: A Paradigm for Leadership

Workshop Description: You are invited to a workshop to explore your full potential as a grandmother who takes leadership in her family, her community and the world. Whether becoming a grandmother has brought you unbridled delight or heartbreaking disappointment, this lively interactive workshop will guide you on your own journey towards more Conscious Grandmothering, as a path for bringing leadership to the world.

In this workshop you will have the opportunity to:

* Choose what to bring forward from your own experience of being grandmothered in order to strengthen your leadership today;

* Learn how the history, sociology and anthropology of grandmothering in former times and other societies can nourish your leadership;

* Develop practical wisdom for closing the gap between how you want your relationships with your family members to be and how they actually are;

* Practice effective communication strategies and foster an attitude of cultural humility necessary for leading in your families and communities;

* Learn about politically and socially activist grandmother organizations around the world as models and opportunities for getting more involved;

* Strategize self-care-- a necessary foundation for leadership; and

* Participate in creating a ceremony to mark your rite of passage to conscious grandmotherhood and acknowledgement of your role as a leader in your family and community.
