Police said autopsies performed on July 22 determined both subjects died from gunshot wounds.

Investigators recovered five weapons from the scene, four of which were registered to Chan and one that was unregistered.

Police submitted crime scene evidence, including gunshot residue, DNA, fingerprints and firearms ballistics, to the Department of Justice laboratories for forensic analysis.

Police said there is overwhelming evidence indicating Chan killed Truly by shooting her multiple times with a .357 revolver and then shot himself with a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun.
