Woman Facing Murder Charge In Deadly Livermore Crash
CHP said Livermore resident Lauren April Davis has been arrested on suspicion of murder and gross vehicular manslaughter.

LIVERMORE, CA — A Livermore woman was arrested Thursday on suspicion of murder, gross vehicular manslaughter and other driving under the influence charges following a deadly crash along Stanley Boulevard just west of Isabel Avenue near Livermore on Nov. 22, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP officials said the night before Thanksgiving, the blue Kia Sorento Livermore resident Lauren April Davis, 26, was driving left the road, overturned several times and came to rest on the first set of railroad tracks. Five people were in the SUV at the time of the wreck.
Violet Campbell, 16, who attended Village High School in Pleasanton, was killed immediately after she was partially ejected. Livermore native Alexys 'Lexy' Garcia, 25, who was fully ejected, died a week later after succumbing to her injuries, according to officials.
CHP investigators allege that Davis was so intoxicated that she allowed her vehicle to veer off the roadway causing it to roll multiple times. Davis suffered minor injuries during the deadly collision. Davis has two previous arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to an NBC report. CHP officials said Davis was arrested at the scene but later released from jail pending further investigation.

On January 16, the completed collision investigation was presented to the Alameda County District Attorney’s office who charged Davis in the deadly crash. The CHP investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Davis from the district attorney’s office and arrested her Thursday afternoon in Livermore. She was booked into the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin where she is being held without bail. Her arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 12.
"The California Highway Patrol is committed to ensuring that drunk and drug impaired drivers are removed from our highways," CHP Captain Christopher Sherry said in a statement. "We are dedicated to preventing DUI related tragedies. We will continue to support both the Campbell and Garcia families as this case proceeds through the judicial system."
