Assault Suspect Barricades Himself In Livermore Home: LPD
A standoff ensued on Woodrose Avenue early Thursday morning, leading to a closure of the nearby area.
LIVERMORE, CA — A 27-year-old man barricaded himself inside a home after allegedly assaulting two adults in Livermore Thursday morning, according to the Livermore Police Department.
Just before 4 a.m., Livermore police received a report of a man assaulting two adults inside a home on Woodrose Way. When police arrived, the suspect barricaded himself in an upstairs bedroom. The two victims were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The roads around the intersection of Central Avenue and Scenic Avenue was closed off as the East Bay Tactical Team came in to assist. Police said that there was no threat to the public, and nearby Croce Elementary School was not placed under lockdown.

At around 8 a.m., the suspect was arrested and transported to Santa Rita Jail. The area reopened soon after.
The suspect, whose identity was not released, if facing two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest. The case will be turned over to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, and LPD’s Criminal Investigations Bureau continues to investigate.
