Grass Fire Burning East of Livermore That Consumed 2,700 Acres Now Fully Contained

A grass fire that started Wednesday in unincorporated Alameda County is 95 percent contained as of Saturday evening, according to Cal Fire. Firefighters had the fire 85 percent contained Saturday morning and Cal Fire officials released the latest information at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The first report of the fire came in at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday near Tesla and Corral Hollow roads, between Tracy and Livermore, Cal Fire officials said. The fire, called the Tesla Fire, has burned 2,700 acres, according to Cal Fire.
The Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area was evacuated Wednesday night as the fast-moving fire quickly spread and remains closed at this time, according to the Carnegie SVRA Facebook page.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
