High-Capacity Weapons Found Inside Livermore Car: LPD

Livermore police arrested a man they say was carrying many powerful, loaded weapons in his car.

Police found a 30-round extended Glock brand ammunition magazine containing 9-millimeter rounds, a 40-caliber Glock brand magazine with 9-millimeter rounds,  and a Glock 9-millimeter handgun.

LIVERMORE, CA — A Livermore man was arrested after police found that he had a suspended license and was in possession of numerous guns, including unidentifiable ones, the Livermore Police Department said.

On Friday at around 11:30 p.m., Livermore police stopped a Dodge pickup truck with expired registration near First Street and Trevarno Road. Police say that DMV records showed that the driver, 60-year-old Michael Silva of Livermore, was driving on a suspended license after a DUI conviction and was a convicted felon.

Police searched the vehicle and said they found a 30-round extended Glock brand ammunition magazine containing 9-millimeter rounds. They also say they found another 40-caliber Glock brand magazine with 9-millimeter rounds, and a Glock 9-millimeter handgun behind the air vent.

Silva was arrested on charges of possessing a large-capacity magazine and ammunition, possession of an unidentifiable firearm, concealing a firearm in a vehicle, carrying a loaded firearm, and driving with a suspended license. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
