Livermore Mayor, New City Council Members Take Oath of Office

The swearing in took place Monday night.

LIVERMORE, CA — Mayor John Marchand and newly elected council members Robert Carling and Bob Coomber were sworn in during a ceremony in Livermore Monday. Outgoing council members Stewart Gary and Laureen Turner were recognized during the meeting.

Marchand was elected to serve a two-year term; both Carling and Coomber were elected to serve four-year terms.

"It continues to be an honor and a privilege to work for and with this remarkable community. It is a privilege to work with the Livermore employees whose dedication and commitment place them among the best people I have ever worked with," Marchand said. "The best reason to serve in public office is so that the community is a better place because you served."
